Appearances can be deceptive.

The fire looks beautiful but that doesn't mean it won't burn you to ashes.

Just because something looks pretty doesn't mean it is good for you.

The straw looks bent when put in water but in reality it isn't.

Circumstances might make people look crooked when in reality they are not.

Someone who cracks joke and makes people around laugh, might not always be the happiest person in the world. 

You never know what someone is going through.

Just because a person is a wallflower doesn't mean they do not have potential.

The waves always recede before a tsunami.

The apple is red not because it is actually red in colour but it is the only colour that it does not absorb.

 It is the reflected colour that reaches our eyes and we 'think' it is red.

Everything around is an illusion.

Especially in the world that is being overtaken by AI, it is almost impossible to separate real life from the virtual.

It is always safer to take everything with a pinch of salt because 

APPEARANCES CAN BE DECEPTIVE!

The Feedback Loop from Hell.

 Mark Manson, in his New York Times Best seller book, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck gives a concept called "The Feedback Loop from Hell."  This basically means that feeling an emotion over feeling the said emotion intensely for feeling it in the first place. Let's break it down. Say you feel sad about something that you want to get over, now you feel sad for feeling sad and feel sad again for not being able to get over it.  Say you are a person with temper issues and you lose your temper. Now you are angry with yourself for getting angry and, again you lose your temper over the fact that you make yourself look like a mean person.   And the cycle goes on... Manson says that today's social media culture has given birth to a belief that feeling these negative emotions is not okay, which is not true. "The Feedback loop from Hell has become a borderline epidemic, making many of us overly stressed, overly neurotic and self-loathing"

Just keep swimming...

 "Just keep swimming... Just keep swimming..." You are right. You have probably heard Dory singing it before. For reference, Dory is the cute blue tang in the film Finding Nemo and  Finding Dory, that   suffers with short term memory loss (we're talking 'only-a-few-seconds' short here.) This line is Dory's mantra throughout her journey in the film.  Not one instance in the story did Dory play the victim. She is always the happiest fish and also never fails to cheer up everyone around. She did not let her past define her. She always lives in the moment (literally lol) Dwelling in the past never did anyone any good. All it does is hinder your growth and create false hopes on things that you know for a fact is not gonna happen. Despite getting lost for a million times, Dory found her home in the end. How "removed" from reality are we?

 The "removed form reality" is an intriguing concept that was put forward by the philosopher Plato. Though he might have given it in the concept of art and poetry, let us give it a current day touchup. First, think about how much we live in the present and try to answer these questions. Do we savour the good things in the moment or follow our first instinct, i.e. to take out the mobile phones and capture it? When you come across a street brawl, is your first instinct to find out what was wrong to help or make it a content for social media? When you come across an accident (God forbid), do you run to help or run with your mobiles to vlog the help and the scene? It has even gone to an extent where, some people have even started recording while crying and being upset, to showcase it to the whole world.
