Tomorrow never comes!

Image
No one is gonna write your assignment that was given ages ago but you haven't finished it and is due tomorrow. No one is gonna take the trash out that you should have taken two days ago. However long you put it off, you are the one who is gonna clean your room anyway.  Procrastination is a common human trait. Like you might have a quiz competition at church the next Sunday. You are back from work, tired. So you put it off to start studying tomorrow.  Or your once active blog is now slowly dying. You do not want that to happen yet you keep saying to yourself that you will definitely post tomorrow.  Also, look at what happened to Hamlet! One thing that most people fail to understand is that  "Cold water does not get warmer if you jump late"                                                            Procrastination leads to laziness which is the key to failure.  David Allen in his book, Getting Things Done introduces a '2-minute rule.' It says that if you can do an a

One step at a time

One is often easily carried away with ambitions that hit them after getting a boost of motivation from an Instagram reel.  In most cases, this kind of energy fades eventually.  That does not mean that aiming high is a bad thing, just that try not to aim too high.  Like aiming for the moon when you are sitting on the couch while scrolling Instagram feeds. You first need to keep your mobile down. Stand up. Take a moment to collect yourself. Walk out the door to spot the moon in the first place. You might not see it if it isn't the right time of the day. If the timing is right, you need to observe all the phases of the moon. Then decide which phase it is that you desire. Then calculate the date on which you will see it again. Make sure you do not have second thoughts and understand that this is what you exactly want. Only after all this, do you find a way to reach the moon.  Before you reach your ultimate goal, there are obviously going to be preparatory steps along the way. Constantl

Consistency is Key!

Image
If there is anything that will take you places that you wanna reach in life, it's nothing but consistency. Expecting overnight results is making a fool of oneself. Continuous effort is what yields the fruit of labour. If you act like a monkey for ten years, you will be a damn good monkey by the end of it(not asking you'll to act like a monkey lol) .   It is the same with anything in life. If you wanna be a guitarist, play the guitar every day. Even if it is for just a few minutes, do it regularly. As days pass you will see a progressive change in your music than when you started playing it.   If you wanna be a writer, write every day. Be it a page or a phrase, do it without a break every day. As days pass you will have started thinking more than you did when you initially began and you will see a visible change in your style of writing. If you wanna build your muscles, exercise regularly. The muscles are not gonna pop in a day. It requires continuous work. If you wanna lose/ ga

A day in the greens

Soothing breeze caressing the face Right through the back of the brain Eyes roll back in calmness Lost in a different world amidst the noises Silhouette of a hill over the horizon Green pastures a treat to the eyes Waves of wind over the yellow gems of rice Sparrows flying across the sky Leaves rustling Birds humming Crows cawing Clouds floating in the sun's red sea While hiding behind it  For us not to see.

Quagmire

Life is a quagmire It's fun in your childhood Irritating in your adulthood Slippery in your old-age.

Petrified

Petrified  Unable to move a muscle  Neither voluntarily   Nor involuntarily  Like sometimes in the dreams You try hard to walk  But couldn't take a step  Like the feet is stuck to the ground Like the body is tied to the bed  It REFUSES to move  And So does the Heart.

365 days

Crazy what a year can do to a person 365 days- each on edge Stepping a nanometer back each day Slowly becoming bigger strides- backwards Now that at a safe distance Just the thought of the height  Should've fallen from Makes you sick Now from what seems to be a safe distance stands Her Looking at the past Her Wishing to let her know that  Everything's gonna be okay Yet, unrecognisable in many ways "Is that even me?" "Yes" "Not anymore." God saw what you didn't Broke you only to make you For he has carved you in his palm He saves you from every harm.
